Sugar Cone Custom Ice Cream Cone Growth Charts

Posted by Dawn Price, October 15, 2010

We have a new product alert at Dawn Price Baby — Ice Cream Cone Growth Charts!  Sugar Cone was started by two local (DC metro area) designer moms that have put together the best of their creative talents to bring us a new product as unique as your little one.  :)

These adorable growth charts are hand-painted with love and embellished with various media including individually hand-cut papers, gems, beads, felt, sparkly glitter and lots of other fun “toppings” the designers can get their hands on!  The charts are made of solid mdf board and are 5′ tall x 9″ wide. They are coated with a clear protective finish.  Before you ask, I will tell you that all products used are child-safe and the clear protective coating is put over the entire growth chart to seal all embellishments onto the chart so they don’t come off.  Even better, the sealant makes the growth chart easy to clean!  How great is that!?

To begin customizing your growth chart, you can start by reviewing the various ice cream scoops and you pick your favorite 14 flavors.  There is actually 15 scoops on each growth chart, but the 15th is called Top That and it is automatically included on each chart by the designers.  After that, you pick the paint color that you want mixed with a white stripe to be the background of the chart itself.  The designers have chosen to use only Benjamin Moore paint for quality.

Once you have done those exciting steps, you next get to decide if you want to add even more personalization to the chart with the child’s name, add measurements (ruler) on the left side and / or choose to include the names of the ice cream scoops you have choosen on the right.  Each growth chart can be as individual and unique as the child you are buying it for!

If all of these options are overwhelming, then no worries!  The designers also offer 3 Signature Cone growth charts that are tried and true combinations of flavors. If you love the flavors selected or don’t want to go through the process of picking 14 of the 15 flavors with the custom growth charts, then all you have to do is just decide on the perfect paint color for your stripes and the level of customization you want on your chart (measurement numbers along the left side, flavor names along the right side, and whether you want a child’s name at the top of the chart).

There are three signature cones available: Girly Swirly, All Shook Up and Bazooka Boy. All of these charts include “Top That” at the tippy-top of the cone. Each Signature Cone growth chart flavors(see sketch of each growth chart in other images above) are (in no particular order):

  •  Girly Swirly – Carmel Swirl, Coming Up Daisies, Hello, Cupcake!, Peachy Keen, Strawberry Sizzle, Lemon Zinger, Mint Chip, Glass Slipper, Princess for a Day, Sprinkle Sparkle, Treasure Trove, My Funny Valentine, Butterfly Bliss, and I Scream, You Scream
  • Bazooka Boy – Out of this World, In a Pinch, Quarterback Crunch, Peace Out, Baseball Nut, Caramel Swirl, I Get a Kick Out of You, Robot Ripple, Rocky Road, Puppy Dog Tails, Are We There Yet?, Sarge in Charge, Chocolicioius and Anchors Away
  • All Shook Up – Rocky Road, Head in the Clouds, Bubblegum, Mint Chip, Pie in the Sky, Caramel Swirl, Treasure Trove, Lemon Zinger, Apple of My Eye, Pirate Paradise, Chocolicious, M&M Mayhem, Are We There Yet? and Rainbow Ribbons

Dawn Price Baby is now a Destination Tea Store!

Posted by Dawn Price, March 18, 2010

We have carried Tea Collection for the past 5 years.  It has become one of our strongest lines and have now become a Destination Tea store.  What does that mean to you?  Well, that means that in our Capitol Hill location, we will have everything tea offers for the season.  The entire selection!

The dirty little secret is this…store owners may not buy everything a manufacturer offers for that season.  It may be because it didn’t feel right, it didn’t appeal to the owner, it may not go with the other selections, etc.  Whatever the reason, some items you may not be able to see in person even though the store carries that line.

So, come down to the Capitol Hill location to see it for yourself.  Two important things to remember:  first, if we don’t have the size you are looking for we can always order it for you.  Second, even though we aren’t a Destination Tea store in the Georgetown, we still carry over 75% of the line, so chances are still good you can see it there if you can’t come to the Capitol Hill location.

If you come down before March 31, 2010, mention this post and receive 15% off full-priced Tea Merchandise, not good with other offers, limit one per customer.

See you soon!
